Veterans Day in Central Florida has always about honoring all of our Veterans. An estimated eighteen million living in the United States. I myself served thirty years in the Air Force. Downtown parade has numerous floats from many businesses with world war II veterans. Many locations throughout Central Florida supports this national day, Winter Park community center, Fort Mellon Park in Sanford has a replica of the Vietnam memorial wall, Veterans and civilians walk around Lake Eola with sixty pounds of sandbags in rucksacks for those never returned from war. Downtown Kissimmee offers various floats.
A street party with live music in Titusville with a phenomenal car show, Volusia County with various floats downtown in DeLand. Fern Park has a properly Flag retirement ceremony for all old flags that are severely worn. East Seminole County VFW Post 10139 celebrate food and drinks with a fireworks display. Melbourne has a veterans day run that all proceeds will help the homeless veterans in Central Florida. Cape Canaveral host a half Marathon walk or run. Eatonville honors veterans by placing new flags on graves in Maitland.
A Veterans Day Festival held in Apopka in various veteran owned businesses serving food and drinks. Central Florida hosts many locations honoring veterans, along with discounts in many national food businesses and also with a free meal providing you show identification card. This is just one major benefit of serving the Armed Forces. Serving our country and laying down your lives goes a long way and appreciated on the day to all active duty and retired soldiers. There is no better way to give back to those who have dedicated themselves. City of Orlando will host its 21st annual parade downtown Wednesday November 11, 8am-1pm 2020 With dignity, pride and respect I have served thirty years in the Air Force and do not regret one bit. I do miss the comadre with my fellow soldiers.
