DISADVANTAGES

The disadvantages is that you feel trapped and almost scared to apply for another home to rent. Each landlord is different and contracts vary of course in the best interest of the landlord. Many rentals have items break and tenants are somewhat scared to bring this matter to the attention of the landlord because the rent may increase at any given year. Rent growth is expected to continue. Renters will continue to face challenges from limited supply and excess demand in the coming year, keeping pressure on rent growth. The rise in interest rates, taxes and insurance leads to rental increase that is unfortunately passed down to the tenant. The landlords that have a variable rate or interest only loans will see higher monthly payments as we continue to ride this tidal wave economy. For sometime now since the government omitted the landlords access to offset their taxes versus income, the high risk is apparent not favoring the tenants monthly rent to increase.
