Negotiating Buying AND SELLING Power

Negotiating buying power are strategic moves at the right time in this shifting market with homes for sale. In this season, there is less competition of homes for sale and more negotiating power as a buyer as home prices are in a deceleration mode. This is due to the rise in the interest rates, started in June 2022 and projected to rise through end of the year 2022. Bidding wars have come to a halt and many offers are reported by realtor.com coming in with contingencies. Also this includes over 60% of sellers has negotiated repairs with buyers.

NEGOTIATING CLOSING COST

When negotiating closing cost, there are many variables that come into play. Asking price of home and to what extent of repairs needed. Generally these repairs fall in between 2% to 5% of purchase price in a buyer's market.

This is an incentive to have the home sold much faster. Realtor.com reported 32% of seller's paid some or all of the buyer's closing cost. Understand that lenders are limited by law of each State and type of loan. Your lender will advise you of what can be accomplished when it comes to negotiating closing cost.
