You do not have to be responsible for lawn service, roof or exterior. Generally you have a community pool, clubhouse for fitness, game room for pool, ping pong or recreational activities and room(s) for special events. These buildings are mostly located near plenty of shopping, restaurants and public activities. Good rental income for many investor purchasing condo unit. Some have on one car garages and may have extra storage. Many are gated or 24 hour manned. Timing is important on what floor you specifically would like to live on. All are equipped with elevators and handicapped accessible by law. Large condos also may appear to show resort style living with a lot of extra amenities. Insurance is less expensive as a single family dwelling. Like in any community of sort you have bylaws and or covenant and restrictions to abide by.
The cons are apartment style living, tenants on each side which possible noise, maybe pets. more than likely assigned parking. Maybe limited to guest parking and not gated. Some can turn into rental properties not knowing who you neighbor will be. Homeowners association is subjected to a high monthly fee. This fee depends on location and amenities offered in community.So enjoy a simple lifestyle living and more time to enjoy your personal lifestyle.
